PIRIE BEST ORIENTEER

D. A. G. Pirie avenged himself over C. Battley in the senior open orienteering race held in the Woodhill Forest over a course of 14 kilometres yesterday morning.

Pirie's winning time was 1h 8m 44s. Battley was second in 1h 36m 45s and D. Townsentd third in 1h 53m 10s.

Eight finished the course. Most competitors had difficulty over the second control point, but little trouble locating the remainder.
